According to Psalms 127:4-5, our Heavenly Father views our children as arrows in our quiver. What a blessing to have the privilege of rearing children for His glory! Our job as parents is to sharpen, straighten, and ready these “arrows” for the time when they will take their turn in the bow. At the graduation of our first-born daughter, I was keenly aware that God was asking me to put her in the bow and to release her. Upon asking, “Where, Lord?” His response was, “Directly into my Will.” His will doesn’t always look perfect from our human perspective but He knows so much more than we do and because He is God He is worthy of our trust. Did we do everything right? Absolutely not, but I have yet to meet any parent who feels they have. We have since released 2 others from the bow and 3 remain in our quiver. As we daily strive to sharpen, straighten, and prepare these arrows, I praise and thank God for His mighty instruction book, His Holy Word! From receiving them at birth to giving them away to their spouse, we learn so many valuable lessons from our victories as well as our mistakes which continually draw us to our knees in the throne room of prayer!
Included on this site are only the beginnings of tools used at various stages of growth. We are and will continually be adding new tools God reveals as tried and true by us and others to help accomplish His will, for our children’s good and for God’s glory!
We welcome your comments, stories, suggestions and wisdom in helping make this site a resource for fellow “warriors” helping each other prepare our arrows for the bow! Will you be an armor-bearer with us?
